What’s in a share? A share provides 8-15lbs of freshly harvested produce each week. Given an average harvest, a share provides enough vegetables to feed 3-4 adults eating a vegetable based diet (~400 lbs of produce every season). Half-shares feed 1-2 adults. Pick-up begins in Mid-June and lasts for 20 weeks until November. During the summer, CSA members pick up produce weekly at the farm and have access to our Pick-Your-Own crops throughout the season. We have local products available for purchase at our CSA Barn. Please see the crop list to see the full spectrum of produce we grow.
In July, CSA shares may include…. Arugula, Head Lettuce, Carrots, Beets, Radishes, Salad Turnips, Broccolini, Garlic, Kale, Collards, Swiss chard, Zucchini, Cucumbers and Summer Squash.
In October, CSA shares may include… Lettuce, Spinach, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Cabbage, Potatoes, Sweet potatoes, Winter Squash, Carrots, Beets, Leeks, Cooking Greens, Onions, Garlic, and Parsnips.
CSA shares also include Pick-Your-Own crops such as Green Beans, Sweet Peas, Heirloom tomatoes, Culinary Herbs, and Flowers available all season long!
How does it work? Members pick up their share once a week at the farm, on Tuesday from 2-7pm. When you come to the CSA barn check the board to see what’s in the share this week and fill your own bags accordingly. If you are out of town you can have a friend or neighbor pick up your share. The share list will also notify you of any Pick-Your-Own opportunities in the farm fields, as well as new items and things to expect for next week. In addition, we will have weekly newsletters sent by email, to keep you updated about crops, events, and farm news.
