Taking place in a valley protected by lush forests and high mountains, which includes the eight towns of Abadía, Aldeanueva del Camino, and Baños, the program of the twenty-fifth edition of this project consists of hiking trails, concerts, exhibitions, gastronomy and sports. The official opening will take place on Friday, October 28, in Casas del Monte, with the advertisement presented by the Women’s Associations of the eight municipalities of Valle del Ambroz. The second weekend will be held the Extremadura Sprint, Middle and Long Distance Orienteering Championships from November 5-6. The tests will take place around La Garganta, Baños de Montemayor and Hervás. There will also be the II Days of Poetry and a walking route through Baños de Montemayor to learn about the world of the chestnut forest and the impact of its time on the local economy.
Water activities, tastings of typical dishes, a concert by the Provincial Band of the Cáceres County Council, astronomical observation and a bike path along the green path to Béjar Harbor, as well as a magic show and attractions for the little ones complete the program. for that weekend.
The events will continue on the third weekend, November 12-13, with a handicraft market in Hervás and a parade by the Teatrapo company with a Drakflama show with giants and pyrotechnics. On Sunday there will be a BTT hike through the valley to traverse forests, trails and traditional paths, and at Choker, comedian JJ Vaquero will perform with Jesús El Negro, an expert in the joke of everything and everyone.
A walking route was planned for the fourth weekend, November 19-20, to contemplate the monumental chestnut trees of Casas del Monte. A large mural will also be created in the town, and there will be a cake competition in Aldeanueva del Camino, as well as a circus show and a concert by Huecco at the Cine Teatro Juventud in Hervás, among other offerings.
On the fifth weekend, November 26-27, a day of solidarity was held at the Choker Multi-Purpose Mansion with music by urban cartoonists, charity market, paella tasting and Pancho Varona’s concert on day 26.
