Founded by Manuel Velarte more than 35 years ago, the company is experiencing its most successful moment, coinciding with its entry into the management of the Stator Management investment fund headed by Máximo Buch and Ernesto Bernia. Accordingly, the company plans to reach sales of 14 million euros in 2022, which means an increase of 12%.
One of Gastraval’s greatest achievements is that its dishes have always maintained the traditional and artisanal preparation process. “Paella and Valencian gastronomy in general has a worldwide reputation, which has led to an increase in demand and we know how to take advantage of that,” says Matthieu Allais, director of Gastraval.
In this way, the company has succeeded in becoming the world reference supplier of paella and rice dishes, currently operating in more than 13 countries. “We are present in all major markets, emphasizing our presence in Portugal, France, Italy, Sweden, the UK, the United States, Belgium, the Netherlands and Iceland. And we hope to arrive in China and Korea soon”, explains his manager.
Expansion of its facilities in Catarroja
Gastraval has a wide range of products such as paella, fideuá, rice or broth made in its over 3,000 square meter factory in Catarroja (Horta Sud) and is expected to be adapted to meet growing demand in the short term. . In the words of Matthieu Allais, “one of our challenges is to expand our facilities and invest in new infrastructures to continue improving the quality of our paellas. We also want to adapt our sales formats to markets and increase retention methods,” he adds.
Likewise, the company that produces paella has about 100 employees, professionals who follow the original paella recipe. “We have a great team of people who make sure the flavor of authentic Valencian rice reaches any part of the world, which is key to maintaining our current position,” said Gastraval director.
